At least one of my big tanks. I am leaning toward the 55 gallon with the goldfish. But right now there is no place to go with the goldfish.
My friend is going to put in a pond and I am sure she would let me put all the goldfish in it but I have a couple I don't think would survive in a pond.
It well be heated but I am worred the slower goldfish wont be able to keep away from any predectors.
I just got to many tanks and my house is just way to crowded. Need to be able to move the birds away from the fish tank.
If I shut down the 55 I can move the birds to that spot and then my 75 wont get seeds and feathers in it.
I well miss my goldfish but of all my tanks I think they are the ones I well miss the least.

And I just love how my 10 gallon is doing.

Things are swimming alone nicely here. Everyone is in great shape and I got a new Betta boy for my five gallon Fantasy River Tank.

The White Clouds have been moved into the 29 gallon tank.

This time I am going by the book. It well proable take me all day. I am draining the tank right now. Got to remove the gravel and then go get my soil and a few more plants to add to the plants I have.
This time going to put the plants in and NOT move them. That is one of my worst problems I move then and soil starts to get all over the tank. Yuck

Dojo passed last night

Not sure what happened. I did move the angelfish out cause I was reminded dojo's prefer cool water. So I moved it and put in my white clouds and started to lower the temp slowly.
This morning one of the male dojo's was dead. Last night it was fine. Tested the tank and it is fine.(and for you nosey people I am not listing the test I have been keeping fish for over 20 years I know what it is suppose to be.) Must of been stress.

Broke down the 10 gallon moved plants to 20 gallon and my 6 gallon JBJ nano. The only thing I don't like about this tank is it does not photograph well. But in real life is looks great.
The picture up top (cause It wont let me put there where I want to put them) is the 20 gallon as of this morning. The one on the bottom is the JBJ nano.

Moved the goldfish, dojo's and one BN pleco to the 55. Move the Oscar and Jack Dempsey to the 75.
They all seem fine.

55 has two filters the rena xp3 and a bio wheel 400.
75 has one filter bio wheel 400. I well need to add a second bio wheel.

Added some large rocks to the 20 gallon planted tank.

Hubby got these for me. I think with a little algae growth on them and the tank fills in some they well look good.

Found a couple interesting rocks to add to the 10 gallon.

This morning after moving some plants around and removing as much moss as I could. That stuff gets all over the place and drives me crazy.

Next time I have a couple dolars I need more plants for both tanks and more substrate for the 20 gallon.

The 10 gallon I have removed the divider and added substrate and a few more fish. I have room for some more so may make some changes later. Thinking of moving all my white clouds to this tank and whats in the tank add to the 20 gallon planted tank but they need to rest some before I move any fish again. Also going to change the rocks some.

Sunny my goldfish whose eye got sucked into the python so he can't see to well and needs to be away from the other goldfish. Was moved to my 30 gallon. Kind of dark cause he does not like the bright lights. They spook him now.

Cause of my lose of Star and me not paying attention and causing the lose of Sunny's eye. I have had the blues all weekend.

But I am starting to see a bright side. (Yes I always look for a bright side)

When it is time to move my Oscar and JD I can move them to the 75 gallon I already own. I can move the goldfish to the 55 gallon and purchase another filter for it (a bio wheel 280 should do the trick) or maybe one of my older filters I have on hand and one of my bio wheel 400. And move the canister to the 75 gallon with a bio wheel and only need to buy more filter media.

Sunny well be moving to the 30 gallon sometime today. With a couple cory cats, a snail and later this year when I move the other goldfish to the 55 a dojo loach.
Only have four fish I have to move out of the 30 gallon and I can move them to the soon to be even more heavily planted 10 gallon and 20 gallon.

So that means I well save money. And that is always good.

It well take a few more weeks for me to stop crying but I well be ok soon and on to other things.

Star well be missed and her memory well always be with me.

She is gone.
Come to my house Oct 2006 passed away July 25 2009. I am guessing she was at least 3 years old.
Sunny also lost an eye today. Guess s/he is now Sunny the Pirate. S/he has a lot of black maybe the eye well be black when it heals.

Lost my female koi angelfish today. Hubby told me a couple days ago when I was staying with my sister that Cheese was swimming funny.
When I got in yesterday I took a look at her. She was very egg bound.
This morning she was gone.
RIP my Cheese.
I also noticed after being gone since last Friday and tanks not getting my attention that my 29 gallon tank plants are looking sad. Lost a lot of color and no new growth. But my 20 gallon looks better then ever.
The two difference is the 20 gallon has less light and eco complete. Since I don't think the .5 less light per gallon is it I believe it is the substrate so I ordered some eco complete to add to the 29 gallon tank.

I did my 2nd weekly water change on my two big tanks. Goldfish and Oscar tank.
I also moved the biowheel 400 off the 55 and put it on the 75 gallon giving my 800 gph that the goldfish need and I moved the rena 2 to the Oscar tanking giving it the extra bio media its needs. Still need to make a hole in the back of the 55 gallons stand so I can center it better but it well do just fine for now.

Got some company for Karma

Moved the angelfish out of the 55 (back to the 20 so I can stop worring about her) and put in a small JD. It is about 1.5 inches smaller then Karma. No I did not QT just two fish in the tank and just had not place to do it.

I sure hope they work out. I well be getting a larger tank first of next year. Well start looking for a used 75 gallon. (Always get some cash but wont be enough for a new tank used well have to do).

If it comes to it I can take a couple goldfish out to my friends pond and move the rest to the 55 and move Karma and Friend to the 75 gallon I have now.

So far so good. Ever time Karma gets near the new fish s/he darts away. S/he is very active. Need to come up with a name so I can stop having to type s/he all the time. lol

Been a lot of changes around here. Moved the two goldfish into the 75 and yes it is a tad over stocked when they all grow up and some well have to be re homed. (want to re home the dojo's) Or I might get lucky and some of them well stay smaller then normal (dojo's are albino's and I was told they don't get as large I have had them a while now and they are pretty small still.)
I got my husband an oscar. We had one once for 10 years and he really enjoyed that fish. I think he well take more interest in the fish if one of them is "his"

This is Karma. We come across that name when hubby and I were looking for a dog to rescue. We decided not to take the dog (took two months but we did find a new dog) but we really liked the name so that is our new O's name.
I know its not normal but for now s/he is in a 55 gallon tank with one of my angelfish from the 20 gallon for company. For now keeping a close eye on the pair but they pretty much ignore each other so it might work out.

My morning has been a living nightmare. I have told you once about my dream I have often about leaking fish tanks. Well this morning I had a leak.My 55 gallon is a used tank and use to have an iguana in it. So it is scratch up pretty good and I always keep an eye out for leaks.Yesterday I got my new bio wheel 400 and put it on the tank this morning and then sat down at the computer to play wow. A couple hours later it occurred to me the tank was to noisy. So I look over and sure enough the level is down by about 3 inches. So I go to have a look and see water on the floor. I run around grabbing the python and start to drain the tank and I grab a small (what is it called) you know to drain the tank but not a python. Anyways I use it to start draining into my 18 gallon laundry basket so I can put the goldfish in there and I was making plants to spread out the Cory cats in my other tank.So while it is draining I am looking to see if I can figure out where the tank is leaking and much to my relief find it is the filter. WOOT I was on the verge of tears I was so relievedSo called Big Al's they are sending a new one and I am sending this one back. Got back out the small filter (better then nothing) moved the media that is already got buggies in it cause I got it from the other tanks. Now I am calm again. Ill try have to do a few extra water changes till the other filter gets here.So so glad it was not the tank. No money to buy another one right now.

Moved all but the Cory cats and female BN to the 29 including all the plants.
Moved the two goldfish to the 55 gallon with the Cory cats and BN. (Still have one glass fish to catch it is being a pain.)
I did this for many reasons.
A. I don't like my goldfish being so far away from where I spend most of my day.
B. The 55 gallon for the past 6 weeks has been looking bad and I have needed to do a lot of work on removing hair algae. This well be so much easier to do now that it is all in the the 29 gallon.
My batteries are down so have to wait till late this evening or tomorrow to get pictures.
Poor little goldfish they really look small now in the 55. hehe

Thinking of setting up my 30 gallon again.

I was at wally world and they have the cutest and healthy tiny fantail. Mostly white but might have some blue in it is. I am going to go by this afternoon after lunch and if the little one inch guy is still there he is coming home with me and in the next couple weeks I well set up my 30 gallon tank.

He is tiny enough I can keep him in my over filtered 5 gallon for a couple weeks.Then put him in the 30 gallon and move Moon in with him when he gets bigger.

The tank well have to go in my bedroom. Which I am not crazy about but I do make it a point to head to bed about 30 minutes early these days to stare at my 20 gallon tank. I may have to add a chair in there one I can fold up.

This well put me at 5 fish tanks and 4 bowls/jars. I know not many compared to some but the most I have ever had set up.

I never much liked the plants in the back middle so they are gone. I got some thin leaf water spirit. I always liked that plant and it is a very fast grower.

I also removed all the older vals and replanted most of the runners from them. I tried to give them more space between plants.

Didn't do much to the crypts except cut off some of the straggle looking parts.

Jan 19th 2009 did a major trim on the stem plants in the 55 gallon and thined them out a lot. Found one of my plants had a flower.

I aslo removed a Vall put in a cup/vase and put it in the goldfish tank. If they leave it alone Ill add some more later. The Vals are putting off lots of babies.

Also on the same day I started feeding my goldfish wax worms and mill worms. I hope this might help Star get a nice wen. Mongo has a really nice one for his size but can't hurt him to have some too.

So today I move my stuff from my 29 gallon to the 55 gallon. I bet the fish well be happy. Now that some of those angelfish are the size of a silver dollor they really need the room.

Look great. But why oh why did that guy send those kullie louches with them? He sent two and one went down the drain. Poor guy. I have no place to put it if it makes it threw QT.

Never liked them anyways they hide and dig and my only tank that is warm enough for it is planted and I dont want it in there.

Anyways the dojo's are great and since it is raining they are pretty active.

Ok after dealing with plants in the 75 gallon I have decided that it is much to deep for me to deal with taking care of it.
So I moved all the angels and tetras to the 30 and all but a few plants into it too. So much easier to reach in and fix things this way. Once the angels pair off Ill remove three so the tank wont be over stocked.
I left the BN plecos in the 75 and put my goldfish back in it. Looks a little bare right now but hope to add 2 more goldfish over the next few months.

It takes weeks for the stuff to stop coming up out of the substrate. I have to replant every morning.

And some of the gravel some how got into one of my filters and now it is making to much racket. I took it apart and cleaned it up some but still making that racket. I have no money right now to get a new one. So I am stuck leasoning to that thing.

Anywhere here is a picture. This is it wont be adding any more plants. Just have to wait and see what it does.

Oh and I had to add this great angelfish picture. Wish I had cleaned the glass off first but oh well.

Redoing the whole thing

Got a few extra bucks this week. (Worked an extra day) So I am going to get my self some more Seachem Flourite. Just one bag.
When my other plants get here later this week I am going to take all the plants out add the Seachem Flourite and replant.
Plan to leave the fish in the tank while I do this and lower the water some but no so much I can't keep the filters running. As long as I clean the Seachem Flourite enough this should work.
My husband is going to let me borrow his two step latter so I can better reach in the tank. I also think the extra substrate well help keep the plants down so I don't have to keep replanting every morning.
